Use case 01Audit on demand
The audit is already done.
Eleven working weeks a year assembling evidence that already exists, and the findings, fines and lost deals that follow when it cannot be found in time.
The scramble. The evidence package is generated from the linked record the day it is asked for, and the advisor seats watch for drift between audits.
01 · The problem
Every audit turns into a scavenger hunt across accounting, HR, email, ticketing, dispatch and people’s memories: the financial audit, the DOT review, SOC 2, a workers’ comp premium audit, wage-and-hour, sales tax, a customer’s security questionnaire. The company usually did the right thing. It cannot show it quickly. Auditors rarely fail a company for lacking controls; they fail it for lacking proof that the controls ran.
02 · In practice
A DOT compliance review scores records: driver qualification files, records of duty status, maintenance records, the drug-and-alcohol program. Most of what the rule calls a critical violation is a record that could not be produced.
A managed-services firm must produce SOC 2 evidence (access reviews, change tickets, vendor reports) and answer client security questionnaires. A staffing firm faces the workers’ comp and wage-hour audits.
03 · Where today’s tools stop
Compliance platforms collect evidence from cloud and identity systems. The HR offboarding ticket, the board minute, the vendor contract, the signed rate confirmation and the email approval stay manual. Driver-file vendors hold driver records but not the payroll, the dispatch exception or the maintenance invoice the auditor cross-checks. The request list is answered by people, not by a record.
04 · What it costs today
of SOC 2 examinations carry at least one exception, most often around access control.
say customers, investors and suppliers increasingly require proof of compliance.
05 · What Velenza does
The evidence package exists before anyone asks for it. Every figure already links to its source record; every approval, review and conversation is already in company context; compliance modules map a framework’s controls to those live links, so the documentation for an audit is generated from the record rather than collected from people. The CLO, CISO and CFO seats watch for drift between audits.

06 · What it is worth
- Floor: the labor. Eleven working weeks a year at a loaded $60 an hour is about $26,000 of staff time that evidence generating itself gives back.
- Typical: one avoided finding. A wage-and-hour finding averaged $1,465 per worker in the Department of Labor’s 2025 recoveries; across 120 staff that is a $176,000 exposure.
- Upside: the deals that now require proof of compliance close without the security-review delay.
Estimates with the arithmetic shown, on the reference companies described in the use-case brief. Never a measured result; your figures come from your record.
07 · Beyond logistics and services
Manufacturing (ISO 9001, OSHA, CMMC), healthcare practices (HIPAA, payer audits), construction (certified payroll, licensing), any company with a lender, a regulator or an enterprise customer.
This case proves to an outsider that the controls operated. Loss and fraud in the gaps is about catching what the controls missed.
